The Pool at Pennbriar

Brush-up on your technique, record some laps, participate in our H20 Cardio classes, or simply enjoy the water in our 25 yard indoor pool. Operating at a welcoming 85 degrees, the pool is open year round for our members’ use.

Level I: Introduction to Water Skills

  • Blow bubbles through mouth and nose

  • Bobbing

  • Open eyes underwater; retrieve submerged object

  • Front & back glides; back float

  • Recover to vertical position from front & back glide

  • Tread water

  • Arm & leg actions front and back

Level II: Fundamental Aquatic Skills

  • Fully submerge and hold breath

  • Front, back glides and back float

  • Change direction of travel

  • Finning arm action on back

Level III:  Stroke Development

  • Headfirst entry from side; sitting position

  • Bobbing while moving

  • Rotary breathing

  • Survival float

  • Back float

  • Change vertical to horizontal position on front & back

  • Flutter and dolphin kicks
