A PARTNERSHIP IS BORN...
In
1980, the procurement of Billie Jean King Tennis Club, King's Court
Racquet Club and surrounding properties by area doctors formed an
association unique to Erie County.
Their idea of creating a
large health, wellness, and social activity center for Erie County
families and nearby residents grew into an expansive, multi-corporate
organization in excess of 200 employees and 3,000 members.
Today,
Fitness Erie, Inc., dba The Pennbriar Athletic Club, stands as a
tribute to the doctors' initial concept of health and wellness, and the
foundation that fostered the development of a full service
state-licensed day care facility, Pennbriar Child Care Services, Inc.,
in Erie and an additional signature health club, Concierge Fitness,
Inc., dba The Health Club at Southpointe, in Canonsburg, Pa.
